Pathos

In the past couple days in class we discussed the emotional content of pathos in the covers we decided to use. We learned a picture can have an emotional connection with its viewer. In the process of viewing our cover and our classmates we had to find our emotions that we felt about it. Using strong words or phrases such as Erik's and Corinne's when they wrote "eyes glistening with tears and fear" about the baby in the cover getting his vaccinations or Dylan and Sandra's paragraph when they used quotes such as "When the music died" and "Give peace a chance" about John Lennon being on the cover.  These writers brought out the emotional content of their covers.

Pathos and Logos

Pathos is the emotional content of the paragraph.
Example: The students burst out for tennis lessons and studying stars to understand how slaves navigated the Underground Railroad.

Logos is the logical reasoning of a paragraph.
Example:

Argument

The argument the author is making is that during summer low income kids lose knowledge due to the lack of summer enrichment programs.

The piece of information that is missing that would support the argument, is that it does not go into more detail on how the money will be raised.

Paragraph 8 and 9

Children were learning Italian life style through activities such as cooking, writing articles, and attempting Italian family traditions through these activities the children practiced math and science.
